2014 aluminum alloy alloying element is copper, which is called hard aluminum. It has high strength and good cutting performance, but its corrosion resistance is poor. Widely used in aircraft structures (skin, skeleton, rib beam, bulkhead, etc.) rivets, missile components, truck wheel hubs, propeller components, and other structural components.
Features of Aluminium 2014:
2014 aluminum alloy is a hard aluminum alloy and a wrought aluminum alloy. Compared with 2A50, because of its high copper content, it has higher strength and better thermal strength, but its plasticity in a hot state is not as good as 2A50. 2014 aluminum alloy has good machinability, good contact welding, spot welding, and seam welding, poor arc welding and gas welding performance; can be heat treated and strengthened, with extrusion effect.
Applications of Aluminium 2014:
Used in applications requiring high strength and hardness (including high temperature). Such as aircraft heavy duty, forgings, slabs and extruded materials, wheels and structural components, multi-stage rocket first stage fuel tank and spacecraft parts, truck frame and suspension system parts.
Heat Treatment Specification of Aluminium 2014:
1) Homogenization annealing: heating 475 ~ 490 ° C; holding 12 ~ 14h; furnace cooling.
2) Complete annealing: heating 350 ~ 400 ° C; with the effective thickness of the material, the holding time is 30 ~ 120min; with the temperature of 30 ~ 50 ° C / h with the furnace cooled to 300 ° C, and then air-cooled.
3) Rapid annealing: heating 350 ~ 460 ° C; holding time 30 ~ 120min; air cooling.
4) Quenching and aging: quenching 495 ~ 505 ° C, water-cooled; natural aging room temperature 96h.
Status: extruded aluminum and aluminum alloy bars (≤22mm, H112, T6)
